Enhancing your financial planning and investment experience

/ Financial Independence, News & Updates / By Steven A. Boorstein, PharmD, CFP®

Happy Fall! I wanted to take a moment to update all of our valued clients on some technology upgrades that you’ll notice over the next couple of months. These enhancements will help make sure that RockCrest Financial stays on the forefront of helping you gain an even better view of your financial health.

Although the technology we use today is among the leading edge of what many other financial firms currently offer, there are still some things that I think could provide an even better client experience. So, after much research and client feedback, I am pleased to announce the following enhancements that will hopefully help make the financial planning and investment management that we do, even more valuable to you:

Financial Planning: RockCrest has partnered with RightCapital software (we previously used MoneyGuidePro) to help provide a financial planning platform that will now allow you to:

  • View your financial goals, net worth and more… all in one place: You can now aggregate information on your financial accounts all in one place (investments, home values, mortgages, credit cards, life insurance, annuities, etc.) and get a 27/7 picture of your financial health!
  • See all your investment accounts, in an easy to view format: Check the value and holdings of your investments, including assets we don’t manage for you… like work sponsored retirement plans, employee stock options, 529 Plans and bank accounts!
  • Check the health of your financial plan, whenever you want: Interested to see how recent market fluctuations affect your plan? Login anytime and take a look!
  • Easily see how financial decisions affect your overall plan: Want to see the potential effect that retiring earlier, increasing retirement contributions, delaying Social Security, or other changes may have on your retirement plan? You can now “play” with changes to the plan and see their effects… even in between our meetings and discussions!

The purpose of offering these enhancements is NOT to replace our relationship… it’s simply to give you greater access “on demand” to the financial and investment information that helps us monitor your financial health. It also helps me, as your advisor, make sure I have some of the most current information about your situation, to help proactively provide timely advice! In todays age of technology, a great advisory relationship should be about helping you move forward, not putting roadblocks in the way that prevent you from accessing information you need.

I’ve also decided to offer basic access to this financial planning software for all RockCrest Financial clients, whether you use us for full financial planning services, or exclusively for investment management. Those clients that utilize our full financial planning services, however, will get complete access, personalized financial planning advice, a custom-built professional financial plan and our help with periodic reviews and keeping that plan up-to-date… and, of course, all their financial planning questions answered throughout the year!

Investment Management: Our Client Portal will now be powered by Panoramix Software. When you log in to this portal you’ll have access to:

  • Performance Reports on investments we help you manage (our initial feedback from a sampling of clients was that these new reports show more valuable information and are easier to read than the previous reports we sent out from Blueleaf;
  • A choice as to how you receive reports: You’ll now have the ability to get the reports emailed to you as a PDF (rather than in the body of the email to enhance privacy concerns), or you can even opt to be notified by email that they are available to review/download from an encrypted client portal (this wasn’t a choice with Blueleaf);
  • A Client Vault: where you can easily exchange documents in a secure, encrypted way with your advisor, without having to send it by email. Your monthly fee statements will also be stored here, so you can easily retrieve detailed information on how your investment management fee was calculated and deducted from your TD Ameritrade Institutional portfolio.
  • Because of these enhancements, as of December 1, 2018, we will be discontinuing access to Blueleaf. If you want to download past invoices stored in Blueleaf, please do so by December 1st. In any case, you will always be able to request historic invoices in the future, by contacting us.

We will be sending you instructions on how to log in to both the financial planning software and the client portal in separate emails. You also access them by going to https://RockCrestFinancial.com and clicking on the “Client Access” section.

Important: As a reminder, if you have an account set up at TD Ameritrade Institutional, you can login directly to your account at any time to view monthly account /statements, transaction details, trade confirmations and general account information. If you haven’t already done so, please go to https://www.advisorclient.com and click the “Get Started” button to create a login and access your account. If you have any problems getting access, or would like me to walk you through the highlights  of their site, I would be happy to do so!

As always, please feel free to contact me with ANY questions!

Warmest Regards,

Steven A. Boorstein, PharmD, CFP®
